HENRIETTA JOWITT

Partner

Henrietta is a partner in EcoPragma Capital, a growth capital fund and advisory business, focussed on enabling the NetZero transition. She is a senior business leader with more than three decades’ experience driving growth and transformation for organisations such as the Confederation of British Industry, Advent International, Schroders PLC, and Cushman & Wakefield. She has worked across ESG for over 20 years, embedding it into risk management, business strategy and new products in business and financial services organisations. She currently holds several non-executive director roles as an iNED for Franklin Templeton Fund Management, a Trustee for arts organisation Opera North and an advisor to the Principle of Green Templeton College, Oxford University, where she is an Associate Fellow.

Henrietta was Deputy Director General of the Confederation of British Industry, where she headed all commercial arms of the organisation. Overseeing a team of >100 across functions. She led a substantive commercial turnaround, delivering steady growth of profitability and cash reserves following a significant and sustained period of decline. In addition, she grew her Non-Executive Director portfolio, as an iNED and Chair of the Remuneration Committee for Newton Investment Management and Newton Capital Management. She was also appointed to the Board of Opera North and is on their finance, audit and risk committee and Nomco.

More recently she has become an advisor to the CEO and Board of MindForward Alliance, a business led charity focussed on mental health and wellbeing within business globally. Prior to the CBI, Henrietta joined the global private equity firm Advent International, where she worked closely with the board on a range of high-profile initiatives, including the design of its ESG framework, which rapidly became a core part of the Investment Committee process and investment management life cycle.

This was preceded by the role of global marketing and investor relations director for Schroders, where as a member of Exco, she developed and executed a client-centric marketing strategy that supported substantial growth in strategic Asian and European markets. She also co-developed their first ESG fund with the CIO and team.

​

Her early career was spent in strategic marketing, business planning, innovation and problem solving for consumer giants, including Nestlé, Heinz, and United Biscuits, prior to the EMEA marketing and business development partner at Cushman & Wakefield. She has an MA from Oxford University where she read Natural Sciences and completed the AMP at Oxford University business school.
