OWEN MASON

Principal

Owen is a Principal at EcoPragma Capital and advisor to companies driving the net zero transition. Owen co-led EcoPragma’s most recent transaction, enabling the investors of an industrial heat pump manufacturer, Heaten, realise a full exit to Advent International.

Owen was previously on the investment team at HyCap in London, a climate tech-focused investment fund with £240 million in committed capital. As the first member of the investment team, he helped set up the investment processes and was responsible for screening over 130 potential targets. He invested over £70 million in both growth equity and VC transactions including an electric bus manufacturer and a hydrogen developer.

Prior to this, he worked for Nomura Greentech, an investment bank in Zurich, as a part of the advanced transportation team. He was involved in transactions including a $300 million capital raise for an eVTOL aircraft manufacturer and a €400m EV buyside engagement for a global solar developer. Owen started his career at L.E.K. Consulting in Boston where he completed over 40 consulting engagements across the U.S. and China in mobility, oil & gas, power & utilities, fertiliser, industrial services, and other sectors.

Owen holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BS from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. In his free time, he likes to row, hike, and practice Mandarin Chinese. He is also a founding member on the advisory board of Rhizocore, a mycorrhizal fungi-based fertilizer startup.
