OWEN MASON

Principal

Owen is a Principal of EcoPragma Capital, focusing on advising companies contributing to the net zero transition. He has a decade of experience in industrial strategy and climate tech investing across the U.S., China, Europe, and the UK. Until 2023, he was on the investment team at HyCap, a hydrogen-focused investment fund where he set up investment processes and was responsible for screening over 130 potential targets. He was involved in both VC and growth equity transactions across the hydrogen value chain including a hydrogen developer and a bus manufacturer.

Prior to this, he worked for Nomura Greentech, an investment bank, in Zurich as a part of the advanced transportation team. He was involved in transactions including a SPAC of an eVTOL aircraft manufacturer and a buyside engagement for an international solar developer. Owen started his career at L.E.K. Consulting in Boston where he was a part of the industrials practice. He completed over 40 consulting engagements across the U.S. and China in mobility, oil & gas, power & utilities, fertilizer, and other industrial sectors.

Owen holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BS from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. In his free time, he likes to row, hike, and practice Mandarin Chinese. He is also on the advisory board of Rhizocore, a mycorrhizal fungi-based fertilizer startup.
