THE ECO 'PRAGMA' INVESTMENT TESTS
EcoPragma is dedicated to the net zero transition. We invest in companies that actually are making a difference measured by their contribution (Eco) and commercial acceleration (Pragma). While very early developments are crucial, we focus on companies that are already making a difference or will do over the next 5-10 years. In most cases our companies have commercially proven technology and revenue growing at an accelerating rate.
Our backgrounds also mean we are identifying the leading players in the digitisation of the core technologies for the net zero transition. While the first 2 waves have primarily been about the virtual economy, the net zero transition demands digitisation of the physical world. From agriculture to water, power generation to consumption, the lessons learnt in the digitisation of media give great insight into this evolution.

- Investment Identification
- Portfolio Building
- Risk Management
EcoPragma has identified over 500 potential investments from first and third-party research, proactive connections and inbound interest from our considerable direct and extended network. We have held meetings with management in over 100 cases and have active discussions with a significant number.
We work with investors ranging from Angels, UHNWI’s Family Offices, Institutions up to Sovereign Wealth Funds to familiarise them with investment opportunities with the right profile at a senior advisory level.
- Growth Acceleration “hacking”
- Capital Raising
- Strategic Positioning
Our experience focusing on fundamentals and in building unicorn scale businesses enables us to add value to a business from day one. Through strategy building, organisational development and ‘growth hacking’, we enable entrepreneurs to create their vision for the business.
Additionally, we work directly and with regulated partners to bring the right capital to fuel that growth. Very often the process generates investors seeking to fund two and three round beyond the current one freeing the team to build rather than perennially fund raise.
We focus on 10 specific sectors that we believe fit our objectives best
1. Energy System
In the energy system, while some opportunities remain in low-carbon power generation technologies, Ecopragma focuses on technologies that support the integration of variable renewables – such as storage (electrical, thermal and chemical), demand response and smart upgrading of transmission and distribution.
